Sł®: Leadership
Development Survey
Effective leadership as a supervisor/manager includes
creating work environments where people "get the work done" and where most
of the time team members "are satisfied with their work environment."
While supervisors and managers often receive scheduled multi-dimensional
technical and financial performance information and data, they are less
likely to receive data regarding the kind of work environment they create
for their reports.
Although periodic surveying of employees is becoming
more common, very often the data is summarized and reported in ways that are
not helpful to the individual supervisor/manager. The Sł® -
Leadership Development Survey has been researched and
designed to provide usable data to the individual supervisor/manager.
The data can be used to develop measurable objectives with an action plan to
encourage continuous improvement of the supervisor/manager.
With the help of employees, the supervisor/manager assesses
himself/herself across nine dimensions (22 questions) identified as
important to Team Satisfaction, Team Performance and Team
Purpose (Likert, 1967; Baron, 1978; Rackham & Morgan, 1980; Hogan,
Murphy & Hogan, 1994; McCormick & Brennan, 2001; and Walker,
Koroloff & Schutte, 2002). Besides employee assessment (Level One),
the Sł® also offers the opportunity for feedback from self-assessment (Level
Two) and Manager feedback (Level Three).
The Sł® Survey is suitable for organization-wide periodic
assessment or as an assessment and objective setting tool for internal
consultants.
Designed to alleviate concerns about the length and scope of
some organizational climate surveys including the use of multiple rating
scales, Sł® fits on one page and uses a single 7-point anchored rating scale
throughout.
Sł® is one of two Organizational Feedback Strategies that
will move the organization from a crises culture to a strategic culture.
Our company motto: "Where Theory Meets the Road"
comes alive in the Sł® - Leadership Development Survey Software.
