Responsive Management®:
2010 Public Seminars
Participant Evaluation Summary
Comments from Participants:
1. How satisfied are you that the information provided in this
seminar is relevant to the performance of your work or your organization?
Very relevant to my work.
Pragmatic, well informed.
Very relevant.
This information is very valuable to a line supervisor.
I don’t have to solve everything (immediately) that is presented to me.
Interpersonal relationships are important to our success.
Information is relevant across industries.
Incredible tools I have been struggling without for years.
I think the examples and situations you share are universal.
I will share the info with senior staff.
Relevant to all types of relationships both personal and professional.
Very relevant for us as we evolve from a culture of avoiding the difficult
conversations.
Very satisfied — am becoming a leader and understanding how to manage people.
Very satisfied.
2. How satisfied are you that the information provided in this
seminar is sensitive to and positively responds to the differences between people?
Highly sensitive.
The information was well researched.
I do think there may be more generational issues than were addressed.
I saw that power struggles can be avoided.
Addresses the diversity and uniqueness in our workforce.
Allows for generational differences in application but examples show directly
applies to all personalities and styles.
Content is universal.
Respectfully presenting about people without judgement.
Being reminded (by Catalyst® exercise) that everyone has a different thought
process from my own was good to think about.
This is very important to me due to the wide varieties of personalities I
supervise.
I believe that it has given me good tools to apply to a diverse group that
reports to me.
3. How satisfied are you with your ability at this time to apply
the information covered in this seminar to your work or organization?
I feel comfortable in applying this information to my work.
(Very) Specific.
Helpful to perhaps have a follow-up phone call after tools are implemented.
This skill will require practice and review of the step(s) to become proficient.
I will need practice but it’s possible.
Worksheets are helpful.
Even though I don’t like "role play" and it is hard to do, it is so
necessary to be able to apply.
I will need time to review the material before beginning to apply the
information.
I feel confident that I will be able to apply it.
The practice activities were super helpful to solidifying the new skills.
Overdue!
I can start using all of it. I have many ideas.
I have tried after previous training and feel more confident.
I can immediately apply. Unfortunately, I need other leaders in our company to
take the training for it to really work. For now, I will lead by example.
I look forward to the practicing of the new skills in more situations on a
regular basis.
Practice with the tool will build confidence needed.
It has nothing to do with the seminar; it’s just that I’m not a supervisor.
I will need lots of practice to begin to follow all of the practices.
This will take practice. Lots of practice.
It’s a lot to take in. It will be a challenge and I think fun to try and
implement.
Love the PocketPrompts® card!
4. How satisfied are you that you had sufficient opportunities to
participate?
Great to have an opportunity to work with people from my own organization.
(You were) Able to allow all participants to contribute (and there were powerful
personalities in the room).
Good balance of lecture/activities.
The practice exercises were valuable to learning the materials.
Small group provided a lot of opportunities.
Small group size is important (12 or less is good).
As time went on I participated more.
I probably would have done more but I didn’t want to dominate. This was an
awesome topic.
The environment was very conducive for participation. Group was just the right
size.
The group activities were very helpful.
Great with smaller groups: intimate and comfortable.
The seminar is dynamic and involves all learners.
Participation is fun.
Awesome fun.
Very. Great balance of practical application to theory.
You continue to ask for feedback/comment/suggestion.
Probably too many. Thanks.
Very satisfied — I am not fond of role play or breakouts.
I wish we had three days to allow for more practice.
Loved the activities (Catalyst®) and interaction with others.

adequately?

Good clarification. You were patient and open to answering all questions.
Very satisfied — I want to learn more.
Drew back to the principle processes rather than complicating the issues (e.g.,
the why?s).
All answered.
Very satisfied — answers had specific examples.
Very satisfied.
Questions were answered appropriately and great suggestions and I was
comfortable asking.

Great use of time/getting right to the nitty gritty is a good thing.
Great investment for a skill needed.
Excellent course. Expertly presented.
I learned a lot and will take my skills back and put them into action.
Other -- What other training topics would you like to have
presented?
Corrective actions.
Strategic thinking and development of other cognitive skills in adult
processionals.
The continuation of the modules all 18 hours for staff.
How to work with young, unprepared managers. How to work/have more impact
vertically upward.
Need to practice these first. Thanks again.
(More on) How to be a better/clearer/more efficient communicator — hmmm.
Group facilitation.
Great discussion and thank you for answering my many questions and comments.
I bit more on performance counseling.
Expand on dealing with difficult, demanding people.
Although it is employer-specific, proper documentation of performance feedback.
Many thanks!
How to keep the standard you set with employees that are non-responsive and
those who are English language learners.
Thank you. This was a great seminar!
I have attended over 200 different types of seminars/training, and I must say
that this one would make it in to my top 3! You certainly have an excellent
training technique!
