Responsive Management®:
2001 Public Seminars
Participant Evaluation Summary

Comments from Participants:
1. How satisfied are you that the information provided in this
seminar is relevant to the performance of your work or your organization?
Situations
presented
were
practical
and
right
on
the
money.
Hit
on
some
issues
that
we
are
going
through.
Takes
the
"emotional"
aspect
of
interpersonal
performances
out.
Thoughtful,
well
organized
and
provocative.
Very relevant for me as someone who'd like to be evaluated -- I was looking to
use the process within the organization so I kept translating the materials to
other supervisions.
Interpersonal issues are very helpful.
This will be very applicable to my organization.
Good practical information.
Good job -- very pertinent.
Useful formats and useable.
Management of people is extremely important within ESA and the techniques you
teach are invaluable and could really help us as an agency.
Excellent information for new supervisors.
This session was very timely given Dick's current work within my organization.
2. How satisfied are you that the information provided in this
seminar is sensitive to and positively responds to the differences between people?
Yes,
it's
applied
positively.
Seems
to
be
wanting
to
help
everyone.
Methods
address
and
respect
differences.
Can
be
used
in
personal
relationships.
The steps are clear and can easily be broken down for use by people entering
supervision.
Useful info on how to deal with people.
Excellent -- I liked the flow and organization of materials.
Information can be applied to all individuals.
We didn't talk a whole lot about diversity but I was fine with that. I
thought the session was very practical.
I appreciate sensitivity to divergence and validating asking for information.
3. How satisfied are you with your ability at this time to apply
the information covered in this seminar to your work or organization?
If
we
use
this
form
it
will
be
helpful.
Excellent
ideas
were
pinpointed
and
easy
to
follow.
I'm
going
to
use
the
worksheet
and
survey
at
work.
Emphasis
on
practice
and
persistence
is
right
on!
May
take
some
time
to
integrate.
Need
to
practice,
practice,
practice.
Will
need
to
spend
time reflecting.
I will use this and commit to three weeks over 1.5 years.
The information will be of use immediately.
The example I gave on performance issues were real -- therefore the information
within this seminar will be helpful/useful.
Verbal presentation was clear and very good. The diagrams are a bit
complex. I'm not sure I'd be able to interpret them properly to others.
Need practice.
Will need practice.
If management permits.
Very functional information I believe I can use.
I plan to use it right away.
With practice -- exercises were very helpful.
4. How satisfied are you that you had sufficient opportunities to
participate?
Having
the
skills
--
i.e.,
Domino
game
--
that
we
can
participate
was
wonderful.
It
was
not
only
to
keep
us
alert
but
also
help
us
to
understand
the
concepts
better.
Very
open
to
questions
and
comments.
Very
open.
Plenty -- and fun.
participation really helps understand material.
Sometimes I think I participate too much.
Giving the example of the interpersonal problem and how to give negative
feedback showed me how great of an impact that issues can potentially have on
the entire agency.
Well run seminar.
Very responsive to participant questions.
Nice small group participation.
Because it was a small group there was a lot of opportunities.
I like the small size of the seminar.
5. How satisfied are you that your questions were answered
adequately?
Did
excellent
job
in
describing
methods
or
approach
to
take.
Obviously,
lots
of
questions
and
all
were
answered
adequately.
Nicely done and in a caring way.
Your examples, illustrations, exercises allowed for good group interaction and
learning from each other.
Not really a long enough seminar to delve into individual workplace issues.
6. How satisfied are you that this was a good use of your time?
Very
efficient.
Will
try
to
use
aspects
presented.
Will
be
able
to
apply/use
quite
a
bit
of
material.
Dick, you're a tremendous communicator: very easy manner.
Although nothing new, the content was presented in a way that was helpful to me.
Good value.
Excellent day spent learning worthwhile information.
Very good use. I appreciated the short but frequent breaks.
Other -- What other training topics would you like to have
presented?
Enjoyed
the
seminar
very
much!
Great
tools.
More
on
how
to
manage
and
use
these
tools
in
an
environment
where
much
of
the
communication
occurs
over
e-mail.
Possibly
more
tools
to
use
on
difficult
employees.
Staff
dynamics,
team
building,
priority
setting.
Thank
you!
How to bring this process to my staff and organization. I'd like to know
how to develop an evaluating-up culture.
I enjoyed those portions where students participated.
Coaching is just starting to take off in state government.
[I] would be interested in discussing the possibility of a presentation tailored
to supervisors in my agency.
Would like to see R2.
Employee retention, creating job satisfaction.
One day trainings are convenient.
Techniques that you can use when you are getting feedback and feeling defensive.
Teacher/interpersonal.
