Participant Evaluation Summary

Comments from Participants:
1. How satisfied are you that the information provided in
this seminar is relevant to the performance of your work or your organization?
No question, this information and the consequent skills are very valuable.
This info is everyday stuff. Works in more places than just at work: marriage,
family, etc.
Expanded knowledge.
I have used the review a number of times with a high rate of success.
Very good information.
It's a good reminder that supervisors/managers need to be pro-active and
consistent by model behaviors.
Performance Problem Analysis worksheet particularly helpful.
Principals are relevant to any organization. This is an excellent
"refresher" course.
Management--it is important that the mission statement is viewed and agree by
all: Employees and Supervisors.
Good suggestions/info. regarding communication and supervision.
All the models discussed are helpful. Thank you.
A lot of insight on how to achieve outcomes.
Particularly liked the information on sharing negative performance on
interpersonal issues.
Keying in on interpersonal hit the spot for me.
Helped reinforce some things I already do as well as gave me new ideas.
Gave me tools with which to approach staff in a positive manner.
Helps in practical ways.
This has been a very informative educational seminar -- makes you think out of
the box.
It keeps you focused on what is important; staying away from the politics.
2. How satisfied are you that the information provided in
this seminar is sensitive to and positively responds to the differences between
people?
I felt to focus on a mutual understanding in dealing with people.
I felt this was a good refresher for me in general supervision techniques.
Reasoning for the need to understand differences explained.
Sensitive and respects differences. Brings people together.
Applies to what this teaches.
I think cultural differences play a part in how we function.
It encompasses all aspects of daily supervision.
Very helpful to recognize differences. Looking at things differently.
It directly addresses those differences.
3. How satisfied are you with your ability at this time to
apply the information covered in this seminar to your work or organization?
It will take practice and materials review to retain the larger view.
Use of information is sporadic, so sometimes hard to be fluent.
I will need practice, but have basic skills to advance.
Have already done it; been there.
Very.
Agency has minimal actual commitment to positive change, therefore my ability is
limited.
Could be used with minor study.
Ongoing work, diligence, patience, will/could provide positive changes in
workplace.
Time will make me more confident with these new approaches.
I have learned a great deal, and will apply what I've learned.
Kind of nervous but looking forward to the challenge.
I'd like to take the other parts of this seminar.
I want to hurry and apply what I've heard.
I may not remember everything, but at least I have the resource (your S3
booklet) to refresh my memory.
Need to practice during my commute to work.
Very satisfied. I am new to supervision and what better way to start!
4. How satisfied are you that you had sufficient
opportunities to participate?
No opportunities were denied.
Good interaction time allowed.
Very.
This was especially relevant, especially in this size group.
Very comfortable.
Opportunities to volunteer provided and questions were posed to me.
I would have liked having an opportunity to role play giving negative feedback
more.
We could have`role modeled a little more -- might need more time.
I enjoyed the hands-on exercise.
You provided structured participation and made others available.
More role playing would have been useful -- although the discussion was
terrific. Perhaps a 7-hour session would be helpful.
Hard to participate because it becomes too personal but not objective -- but
great learning tool.
I liked the group discussions.
Ample time was allotted.
Even though I may not have taken advantage of all these opportunities, I think
it is important to offer them, and I enjoyed listening to other people's
comments.
I realize in six hours time is limited -- would have liked more.
The interactions demonstrations/interactions were very helpful.
I had all opportunities to participate.
5. How satisfied are you that your questions were answered
adequately?
Time taken to fully respond.
Very.
Yes -- very well.
I only had a few -- good questions.
Examples were very good to help explain situations.
More questions happen when the situation arises as per normal.
Answered very adequately.
Management experience really shows!
6. How satisfied are you that this was a good use of your
time?
Given that others of my team were present, it makes the time significantly
more valuable.
Done this before -- refresher is good to re-instill concepts.
So far every time I've attended these seminars I've learned more.
Would like to attend again in a year or so after practice.
Learned different ways to approach the problem.
Very satisfied. I will use the info and hone my skills.
Great learning material -- new supervisor.
I needed it.
I will be able to use techniques -- on peer level also.
Perfect use of time.
I feel better equipped.
A very good use of time.
Other:
Deal and motivating a near retiring employee.
I wish I could have recorded the whole thing. Should be very valuable
information if I can manage to apply it properly. Thank you.
Those "basics" were great.
